Requests for travel support are no longer being accepted (effective 2/15/19).
A limited amount of funds are available to support the attendance of Ph.D. students at the SCET 2019 Workshop.
Students are eligible to receive a reimbursement of their $125 registration fee, although registration and payment of the fee (see Registration site tab) will be required first.
We also expect to be able to reimburse a portion of students’ lodging expense. The amount is TBD depending on available funding and total number of requests. Students will have to pay for their lodging first, and submit receipts for reimbursements after the workshop. Students may wish to consider sharing a hotel room. The Best Western Del Mar has double rooms available for $179.99/night + tax. The Residence Inn La Jolla has only made Studio King rooms available in our block, but which include a sofa bed, for $174/night + tax.
To request student travel support, the student’s PhD advisor should send a request by email to Christopher Lee (clee@lanl.gov) by January 25, 2019. You will be notified of the support amount prior to the registration deadline.
Reimbursement requests, including hotel receipts, should be sent to Shannan Schnedler (sschnedler@newmexicoconsortium.org) after the conclusion of the SCET Workshop. Reimbursement will be by check or by wire. Further instructions will be provided upon arrival at the Workshop.
