Description
Presentation will cover: history of use of commercial CMOS to meet Large Hadron Collider (LHC) radiation tolerance needs. What happens to a CMOS transistor during and after irradiation and annealing. Recent developments and open questions in understanding total dose radiation effects for the 130nm and 65nm nodes. Lessons from chips used in present experiments and challenges for using a commercial CMOS in the high dose radiation environment of the High Luminosity LHC detector upgrades.
