• December Milestone: produce our first simulated tracks dataset

• Conference contributions (poster, potentially paper):

  • Connecting the Dots/Intelligent Detector - LAL Mar 2017 (all plenary workshop)

    • Deadline Dec 9 extended by at least one week

      • Abstract not needed but useful. Volunteers to submit?

Dustin: started looking into CNN with Steve toy track model (straight tracks in 1D rectangular detector). Preliminary results are encouraging, will provide details next week.

Steve: fix after last week meeting shows a more reasonable 2D blob around track impact point. Working on 10x10pixels in 10 layers. 60% accuracy. Keras definition of accuracy is pessimistic (must match pixel in each layer). 50x50x50 too big for 6GB GPU.

Exploring alternatives, such as moving to cori or to Caltech GPU boxes
