The 3rd Berkeley Workshop on the Direct Detection of Dark Matter will be held December 5-6, 2016. The purpose of the workshop is to focus on ideas towards and challenges of future dark matter search experiments.

The workshop aims to:
  • give a brief report on the status of direct searches for dark matter,
  • consider the theoretical case for future dark matter search experiments,
  • delineate the basic requirements and directions of future dark matter search experiments,
  • consider how the present suite of experiments might evolve to be larger or more sensitive,
  • consider what additional R&D might be needed and finally,
  • consider any other ideas, old or new, for how the field might best evolve toward future dark matter searches.
