Description
Abstract:
Radioactive backgrounds must be kept low in the next generation of rare-event search experiments at underground facilities. These backgrounds come from primordial radionuclei. In this talk, I will describe several techniques for fabricating radiopure electronics components that are deployed close to the active radiation detection region. Examples on how the low-background MAJORANA neutrinoless double-beta experiment makes certain components, such as cables, are given. I will also describe our proof-of-principle work on making clean, flexible circuitry.
