Description

Over the past 2 years we have developed implementation of resistive readout in silicon, similar to the RPC concept. The signal is collected on a resistive electrode, and it is AC-coupled to pixel electronics.  Our prototypes work remarkably well, and using the shared signals the position resolution is extremely good (1-3 um), even with large pads (200-300 um).  These new sensors combine internal gain and internal sharing, providing very good timing and position.
