Description

Abstract:

Many large-scale experiments are seeking to detect GeV-mass dark matter particles using nuclear recoils in a variety of detector materials (e.g.liquid xenon, liquid argon, NaI(Tl), Ge). This talk will describe a novel scintillator, GaAs(Si,B), and its potential for detecting electron recoils from dark matter in the poorly explored MeV mass range.
