Abstract:
The technology we are investigating is very unique compared to all other technologies for SiPM readout. In our method, the only analog component required is a preamplifier and there is no conventional ADC, TDC or trigger circuits. Everything else (input pulse recovery, energy calculation, timing calculation and etc.) is implemented digitally in FPGA. Our technology for 128-channel readout has a total hardware cost of a few hundred dollars, compared to order 10K for existing commercial solutions.
